Jet

Sydde and I found some old (purportedly) jet jewelry in a shop in eastern Washington. There was a beaded collar and a few other pieces. The jewelry was in such a state of disrepair that it was not feasible to try to salvage it. I purchased a few pieces for the jet beads. I have no idea if they are real jet or something else. We tried a burn test, and it was inconclusive. Whatever they are made of, the beads are not all consistent, either in shape or size, so they are not pressed or molded. I did take extensive photos of the pieces before I cut them up to salvage the beads. I used sterling silver in these earrings to accent the rich lustre of the jet beads.
