Ogalala Lace

I found the beautiful lampworked bead at Dawn's Bead and Hideaway in Iowa, and held onto it until I could figure out how to best showcase it. A project in one of the bead magazines offered me the chance to compliment the ruffles in the bead with the lacy Ogalala stitch. I really struggled with this because I decided to use size 12 3-cuts for maximum sparkle, and up to 4 passes of the needle were required. Although the project was a complete nightmare, the frothy feminine necklace gets lots of compliments when I wear it.
